Good morning. A beautiful day has dawned. I will get my bike out. I'll be going solo as I can't be sure the club ride I planned to join will take place. I'm a bit cheesed off, I've expressed my view and no doubt will get a telling off at some point. There is a planned club ride at 9.00am but someone has decided to put on an alternative ride starting at 08.30, this is against club policy. This group want to head out to the
Ribble Valley, I agree it's a good plan and the core group of riders for the 9.00am ride are going. This creates the question, will there be anyone at the 9.00 ride? I'm not going on the Ribble Valley ride as on the outward leg it includes a short section which I consider for 2-3 riders, a group is very tricky. With my buddies we have stopped using the road, and we're not wimps. More importantly the return leg follows some very busy roads around Blackburn - I don't mind traffic but not in a group on a Saturday morning.
Any how. Later I will be on the allotment for 2-3 hours. I have to pop to see my lad and grab his bank card to renew his Rovers season ticket. The club have announced next season all season ticket holders will have their name on their seat. I await my brass plaque with anticipation..............or is it that only for benches overlooking one's favourite view? Tonight we are visiting friends for curry and Canasta. Mrs P has told me to keep my mouth firmly shut. Our friends recently travelled to Spain and spent 3 - 4 hours queuing to get through the new biometric passport scheme, they were unhappy with this.....................it's been made very clear to me any comments along the lines of "you get what you voted for" will mean my ankles will receive several sharp kicks.
