I pay all my bills from home with bank transfers. It worries me that I might inadvertantly key in a wrong number and pay the wrong person but dont think its possible.

Usually when you do that, the bank details the person you are trying to pay so you can verify it is the correct person. So if you are trying to pay William of Orange for example, it will come up with that, you hope.

I basically do no bank type stuff on anything that leave the house

contactless cards are a worry - I should really check out phone payments

Thanks for reminding me!

If you have an Android phone then Google Wallet is the way to go.

Much more secure than any debit or credit card.

This is the reason why banks like them so much and they also run the set-up and initial authorisation process.

Every day is a school day.
On my park walks there are lots of people with dogs and where possible i chat and ask them about the breed and why they chose it.......I've never had a dog, know nothing about them and find it interesting. Just finished my walk, only 1.4 miles, and met a guy with a Bull Pug..... literally a cross between a bulldog and a pug.
Each to his own but why would breeders do such a cross ?

Simple answer - money.

No idea - I would not have either
I have seen to many that have problems breathing at anything more than a gentle stroll
The one next door sounds like he had just run a marathon - at the end fo the driveway
It is no way for a dog to live!

It does mean that as well as the bank then Google knows everything you do
I get the idea

but that doesn;t mean I like it

Anyway - on the way back from my ride I took a detour to see if anything had been done after I reported some flytipping a few weeks ago

Basically it was an old motorbike with small wheels that had been dumped and burned down the "black path" at the back of our house
It goes along and then through a short bit that is out of sight from all directions

I used to spot some dodgy people round there but that seems to have stopped

anyway - after that this bike appeared - probably several months ago. I intended to report it several times but never got round to it

so I did a week or so ago
The counsel asked for more details and actually rang to check
then sent me an email saying that as it was a motor vehicle the Police have to deal with it
SO I reported it to them

Anyway - in the intervening days they have spring into action

The bike has been righted and put onto what is left of its wheels
and had a 2-foot-long piece of Police tape tied round where the handlebars used to be

I presume that it is on a list of "things to pick up"
or "things to keep an eye on"
or "things that have been flagged to see if anyone has lost it"

I can see why - and it has been there for ages so it is no great problem

hopefully it will get dealt with soon (ish!)

I have never heard any horror stories about mobile phone banking apps.

They are incredibly secure. Ditto Google Wallet.

Don’t have a problem with banking apps , what I have is a problems with phones 😀
In my forty odd years of having a credit card, I’ve never lost one or even a bank card.
In my twenty odd years of having a mobile phone,I’ve lost at least three. 😂

Good morning all.
A dull morning but not cold.
I have a plasterer coming this morning. Some months ago there was a leak in the pipework above the ceiling, a steady drip which ran along a pipe until it reached the lowest point. I had to have a section of ceiling removed to get at the leak which left a mess.....today that's being lined and skimmed. A bit messy but it has to be done.

Good morning. It's quite cool but clearly going to be a beautiful day. We're out for a gravel ride today, it's about 10 miles along the Leeds Liverpool for me to the meet point which means I'll get about 70 miles for the day. @Dave7 we'll be dropping off the Sankey Way to cross the Mersey, pick up the Ship Canal near Walton Dock before heading towards Latchford, Woolston, Birchwood and on to Culceth. If you see three old nutters looking lost it will be us.

It's a bugger. Nothing is safe these days. Visited a local nursery yesterday and got plants for the allotment; tomatoes, leeks, onions, cucumber, purple sprouting and curly kale. I put these down in the backyard to start hardening off...............went out to inspect this morning there's a bastard snail breakfasting on my kale........................that was his last meal, I offered him a cigarette but he said he's a non-smoker!!!!

Good morning from a sunny Dorset. Mrs Tkk has Pilates this morning and I will wander up to Wimborne via the Stour. I have noticed that my resting heart rate has been drifting up and is now in the low 60's, lack of fitness and weight gain is the cause so I will ( literally) take steps to get it back down to the usual.

Have you done that route before?
Couple of sections will need decent tyres and Birchwood can be very busy.
