Barnet,
Good morning all.
A sunny start to the day here.
It's haircut time again, it kind of creeps up on me, one day it looks ok, then the following it looks unkempt.
This evening we are off to the Palladium in London to see Aljzé and Janette from Strictly in their dance show.
Yesterday we went to the new Queen Elizabeth garden in Regents Park. It only open on Monday but was quite unimpressive. It should look much better next year when the plants are established.

I'm sure I've got an LP somewhere; I'll ask my friendly archivist to search the dusty shelves in the East wing of Manoir du Braconnier to try and locate it.

I knew my trusty Johnson would rise to the occasion. When he emerged, hot and sticky* from his mission, but triumphantly clutching this LP, I was so pleased, I let him take his tea break early so he could have a shower before he collapsed.
Then I remembered why I had consigned this awful record, with its twee sleeve notes, to the nether regions, unplayed for half a century.

I'm slightly concerned by a small phrase in this post................................

Good morning:sun::sun::sun:

Sunny Afternoon was excellent last night. The two leads playing Ray and Dave Davies really captured the characters as I remember them. I always understood how Ray's personal life influenced his writing but I not as much as it clearly did. We then went to eat at ego in Lytham, part of a chain I've heard of but never eaten in. It was very good and I would happily try another.

Today is housework and allotment. The man who built my new fence and gate did a fantastic job in one day. Pricey but an excellent result. It would have taken me a week and been nowhere close to this standard. I'm off to poke bits of electrical wire down a gas jet .........BOOM!

talking ogf hair cuts I had mine done yesterday

I was planning on leaving it until we go on holiday in June

but apparently it was getting ridiculous
how would i know - I never look in mirrors!

anyway - got there and the bloke in the chair (small place) was just getting finished
and the person in front of me was a young boy - type that still wants to sit on his Mum's knee so probably 2sih

anyway - turns out it is his first hair cut
and he is black - with proper black person curly hair

he was great - and the barber was great with him
he did moan and cry when she combed his hair at the start but having a video playing LOUDLY on an tablet (ipad or whatever) plus a lollipop in each hand plus other sweats on the arm of the chair
and still sitting on his Mum's knee and he was fine

His Mum did seem very unsure about what to ask for and all that - sounded like it was her first time in a barber's as opposed to "Hair Salon"

but they were fine - and it was nice to see

the barber even had some little decorated envelopes for "first haircut" - and she put a bunch of his hair in it as a momento!!
