Well - that is 2 days running that I have been out of a ride round the canals

according to STrava it was 2 weeks since the last one!!!

and my legs are registering a complaint

It was a lovely ride - fair number of boats on the canal which is nice
and quite a few dog walkers and walker and runner

There was an annoying thing

on a point where the tow path is very narrow I came up behind a runner
did the normal thing
rang bell and slowed down
no response
rang again - no response
I was quite close by now - so said "excuse me please"

nothing

backed off a yard ro 2 and rang bell again
said "excuse me" again

he was just totally oblivious

even when some walkers and rider came the other way he never noticed I was there

we probably did over 2 miles in convoy

I did save some battery power as I just switched the motor assist off and drifted along behind him

I really cannot understand how people can run/walk.cycle along like that with one of the major senses
AND the only one that tells you about things not in front of you
and not be worried the whole time!!!!

Heard on the News before that it was SO hot today

that Gentlemen in the Main Stand at Lords were told they could take their jackets off!!!!!!


Clearly it was hot

but also clearly standards are slipping!!!!

It's gone a bit cooler now 29c, I think it going to be a hot night so I'll put the fan in my bedroom.

Morning folks had an early spin this morning, off at 8am [not Mo early ] my 30m circular route and whiz back along the A9. I often come across people walking there dogs on the single track, my approach tactic is to slow down at quite a distance and usually the dog informs the owner of my presence and they can then step to the side. Anyhow this mornings walker had a doberman who on seeing me went ballistic! straining at the leash and barking like a mad thing with the woman holding on for grim death...jeez i was thinking i hope that collar or lead doesnt break. I guess she was walking early to avoid any encounters but that dog needs some serious training/socialization and help with behavioural issues- leads and collars can and do break...

Dobermans, huh ! Quite a few years ago, in my running days a pair of dobermans came out of nowhere, I was on a road. The house they came from was a couple hundred yards away. They were snarling and showing their teeth. I thought that there is one thing for it. I will stand still and shout and wave my arms at them. To my amazement they stopped and calmed down. I slowly started walking and they just stood there and then I started jogging and then broke into a run once I was clear of the property. A lucky escape.
