Good morning, up early to see daughter and her chap off to catch the Poole - Cherbourg ferry. It's the " Barfleur " and interestingly Mrs Tkk and I were on its first voyage as we headed to Cherbourg to take part in the Marathon back in '92 ( Poole & Cherbourg are Twinned ). We got free travel, and accommodation was provided by the locals ( we were put up in a particularly lavish home ). As part of our trip we were entertained with a meal and reception on the night before the race, and despite supping a few pints of Guinness, and the scorching heat the following day, I somehow managed to be the first Poole resident to cross the finish line resulting in me having to attend a reception with the Mayor where I was plied with food and Champagne 😁. The (Mrs Tkk to be at that time) also ran an excellent race, finishing well up the field despite having to make a pit stop in a working mens bar en route 😮.

Morning.
Another scorcher on the way.
DIY on the menu today, but in the shade outside I think as it's going to be roasting.
Had a spin yesterday afternoon around the local lanes and it was beautiful. My little legs tired though so couple days off riding which goes against the grain in such lovely weather but I need it after such a big week last week.

Warm here now but was able to get some planting done early before it gets properly hot ; will chill until later this afternoon when there should be enough shade to get some things in the ground.

Oh and yesterday had our first Broad Beans of the year

Afternoon folks :okay: just did a bit of shopping down the local co-op a few odds and ends came to £24! guess it was the jars of coffee on offer which costs a bit...im becoming a skinflint! cant bring myself to buy a packet of biscuits for £3.90!

Walked the beach a while back and dragged a couple of bench seats which came from a bus or something like that and left them where they could be collected by the next garbage patrol. Some campers lit a fire [not permitted] used the seats to sit on and when they left threw the seats into the sea....i dont understand these young people....

18 here  I'm so glad I live in the frozen north!
That’s what always surprises me .I always think of your part of Scotland as the same temperature as where I live, as I have only ever had two holidays in Scotland ( at Lochearnhead ) and the weather was terrific in late June both times . 😀 And very few midges too 😀

Good evening. I hope you're all OK? I'm not sure when I last bobbed in? Saturday or Sunday? A busy few days, Saturday I got to grips with loads of allotment work, Sunday was a little allotment time and then family for lunch with small ones screaming round the garden. Today a 45 miler to a new cafe in Preston. It was hot. I've taken in 5.5 litres of fluid and can feel I'm still dehydrated!! It was hot but one of the joys of a stone cottage is it's cool - 13⁰ indoors right now.
