No storms or rain here and more plants suffering .

Managed to get a few things out this morning before breakfast, mostly Cannas,Gingers ,sunflowers and Tithonias so that should be ok now in the ground out of pots.

Some shopping and thrifting after breakfast and managed to snag a signed copy of Richard Thompsons first bio and a Derek Jarman book about his house and garden in Dungeness.

Also when walking back spotted something you don't see everyday ,
a 1930's Bentley parked near the church as well as a Morgan near by.

After Strava seems to throw a wobbler yesterday

my wife looked this afternoon and the beacon link on her phone still worked
but had updated to show my whole ride

I checked mine this morning - because sometimes it does seems to recover a partial ride overnight

but nothing

anyway - just tried it again and nothing

so I tried starting another recording and it asked me if I wanted to continue my current recording

I said yes - and then finished it

and the whole ride is now there

weirdly - on the beacon link it showed a lot of moving around at home from yesterday evening

and this morning I went up to see a client on the far side of town
but it didn;t seem to have that

now I have got it back - all that has been cropped and it just showed the actual ride
in spite of there being no Strava App running on my phone when I got home yesterday

I dont have anything that technical. I use a Garmin which clocks basics and I can download it if I need to.. now I just use it to tell me how far I've walked.

Another scenic walk into Wimborne, although nearly turned back after tripping going up a kerb and falling onto the pavement via a low wall. Tweaked hamstring where it attaches to the glute as I threw my leg forward in a vain attempt to stay upright, but I pushed on because I'm " well 'ard " 😁 ( and foolish )
Tea will be salad and new potatoes with a couple of pieces of halloumi. I may well crack open a bottle of Westons Finest vintage cider to dull the pain a bit.

TBH I've never heard of them. Apart from being blue whats the difference ?

Basically if your not in certain parts of Scotland they can be a bit (actually very) temperamental and can only live for a year.
Not enough moisture in the air usually is the issue as they mainly come from the Himalayas and the East of England is probably the worst place in the UK to try and grow them although we did have one growing for a few months:rolleyes:.

An interesting outing on our Tandem today.

Through the Tyne Pedestrian/Cycle Tunnel, to the North side of the River Tyne, then, along the Hadrians Way Cycle Route to Newcastle. A stop at the Bike Centre for coffee and lunch. Then, on to the Millennium Bridge, across to Gateshead, and, back home along the South Side of the River Tyne. Not an enormous distance (just under 21 miles), but, our first use of the new inclined lifts with the tandem. The Hase Pino is slightly longer than a conventional bicycle, so, I was not certain that it would actually fit!

Our lunch stop (there is a pub next door, that may have been a better choice)

Annual red poppies are easy to grow, just strew some seed around and up they come, meconopsis can be tricky. Theyre perennial and often short lived often flowering once and dying. They dont like being to wet in winter [will die] and generally need a bit of cosseting. So harder to grow but worth it for those beautiful blue flowers, the variety im trying to grow originates from the Himalaya's :okay:
