Barnet,
Good morning all fellow retirees.
I've got a hospital appointment this morning, and then it will be off on the bus to Enfield to get the train to Ware, which before you ask is just outside Hertford, to meet up with one of our escape committee members who lives out there.
Lunch and ales will be had at the Waterside inn.

Good morning. It's deliciously cool at present, I'm in shorts and T shirt in the back room, all the downstairs windows and doors open as, unusually, it was warmer indoors than out when I got up. It feels like another baking hot day is on the way so I want to cool the house down ASAP. I've been mooching about on the allotment, planted out courgettes, fed the cucumber, tomatoes and guinea pigs, pulled a few weeds..........................the guinea pigs belongs to a nine year old who is on holiday, I'm in charge of pets, their bloody cat vomited in their kitchen yesterday! xx(

Now the shed, our freshly painted shed. The one Mrs P chose the colour for, asked me to paint and now looks like a beach hut. You remember this? I started on Sunday morning and finished yesterday morning. I asked Mrs P if she was happy with the result. She hadn't noticed. REALLY, she hadn't noticed despite going in and out numerous times. She says it's because the colour is very similar to last time. Well, this we don't discuss because if there is one thing certain about our marriage it is that my colour perception is quite different from Mrs P's, and that of a lot of people........................possibly I'm just visiting from another dimension?................or reality.....................

A bit of u3a business this morning, collect my Cervelo C3, the older one, from the LBS where she has been serviced, PT session this afternoon and quiz night this evening. A good day ahead. Next is scrambled eggs, roasted cherry tomatoes with shallots and garlic, toast and coffee................:hungry::hungry::hungry:

@Dave7 - most of the blue poppy is very well covered earlier. The big thing is it is a very simple but stunningly beautiful plant. One rarely sees them in the UK and this is what makes it so special.

:hello:Morning, lot cooler at 20c, not sure if I have anything to do today, no doubt I'll find something

Hi folks :okay: got a nest in one of my bird boxes,,,,but its wasps! ah well i think wasps are carnivorous so they might munch some garden pests, if they sting me they'll be evicted.
Did a bit of gardening this morning, planted some pulmonaria's and a chaenomeles moerloosei which has apple blossom type flowers and should look nice against the wall in spring. :okay:

Wasps are decidedly nasty to Bees!

We had an embryonic (cricket ball sized) nest appear last week in our eaves.

Nippon spray (Amazon) which fires a thin foam jet 3m (about 3 seconds needed) clobbered the nest easily. The amount of wasps and larvae that crawled out and died was amazing. Wasps returning after foraging just fell out of the sky on contact with the, by now, foamy nest.
