One of the parents of a deceased child was banging on about how it should be taught in schools about the dangers of jumping into cold water when the air temperature is hot.
How about the parents taking responsibility for educating their offspring against doing this kind of activity.
It's the same when a child/youth gets killed whilst playing on the railway.
It's always someone else's fault.
Agree it's parents responsibility. However if it was also taught in schools, on social media - which is where 99% of kids will get information etc then even better. Unfortunately not all children have a stable home life so parental education may be lacking.

I do sometimes wonder if I learned not to jump into cold water
and play on Railway lines
from just my parents or from things like Scouts and Cubs
I do remember people I knew going to old quarries in Wales when I was a teenager

There are a number of trike makers and some do tandem. My wife needed a trike after she had to have the balance organ on one side removed. We struggled to find anywhere that did trikes that she could try out till we visited our daughter in Newcastle and found these people https://www.activenorthtyneside.org.uk/adapted-cycling, she went to a number of sessions and tried out a number of trikes. These are quite expensive pieces of kit and it was amazing how little difference there was between what she could and couldn't manage, they were extremely patient. There might be something similar near you.

I stuck two pieces of the thin ply together this time, so it's about 5,5mm thick, and repositioned it closer to the pivot point, so it won't get flung around quite so violently in gusty conditions.

I have returned from the metropolis. My daughter is on holiday in Cyprus so I didn't drop in to see her hence I am back early.

I think we are off to look at a Rembrandt soon
there is a "watch slowly" think at Dunham Massey where you go in and are just allowed to sit and look at it
Rather than like they have in some art galleries where you are encouraged to just walk past

First the "bloomer".....now the "Y-fronts" Drago Back.............
Been out for a walk in the rain, just my usual 1.3 miler but I needed it. Sat on the patio now, its covered so the weather can, within reason, do what it wants.
Dentist tomorrow... he reckons I am going to lose most of my bottom teeth. Since I got Long covid everything is going downhill.
