It's a show about a rancher who routinely murders to get his own way, and who controls the local police to help him get away with it. I can't fathom why anyone would think such a show would be even remotely realistic, because that's not what even the nastiest real ranchers do. I like unrealistic murdery nonsense, because I get enough realistic evevery time I step out the front door. Mind you, I laugh my arse off at some of the supposedly "realistic" crime dramas out there - they're hilariously funny.

As aforementioned, if you just don't like it then absolutely fair play. Taste is a personal thing.

I'd say it was O'Reilly who put me off the most, more than the ever far fetched plot lines. Just a hideous character and not in a "bad guy" way, just unbelieveably annoying.

I've just thought of the perfect analogy, Beth Dutton the Jar Jar Binks of Yellowstone

I watched first couple of seasons of Yellowstone and it was good. Then went ridiculously over the top and the Beth character incredibly annoying so I gave up. Sounds like spin off is even worse.
Snap . I did the same especially with the Beth character, then I watched the actress in the sky series’ under salt marsh ‘ and did the same thing.
Now I am not sure if it’s the actress or just her choice of part I don’t like . The problem is I don’t remember seeing her in other shows other than the Sherlock Holmes films of the early 2000s. 😀

Oooh, haven’t done a night hike in years!
Well done!
Got pals joining us this weekend….we are hoping to try to walk round the IOW next week (about 70 miles…maybe 4-5 days), BUT the forecast is pretty awful….no point it becoming a horribly wet trudge, so we will see how we get on 🤷‍♂️

I've heard it's good but I'm put off by the number of Seasons, currently four. I don't really want to commit to watching that much and experience tells me these series rapidly go down hill after a couple of seasons. The Handmaid's Tale and its follow ons being a prime example. The first series was excellent, the second pretty good and from there on I completely lost interest though Mrs P is still engaged. I don't enjoy these series that milk it for all it's worth, I'm not sure it truly benefits the viewer, the production company or the cast?

Indeed, few series maintain initial excellence. One rare exception is Slow Horses and as it happens series 6 due sometime this year. That is down to writing of course but mainly the stellar cast of Gary Oldman, Kristen Scott-Thomas etc.

Good morning. Lots more rain yesterday and overnight. I'm having a bits and pieces day as I'm feeling much perkier than earlier in the week. I love my granddaughters dearly, they are so very special........and utterly exhausting.

Popped up to the allotment earlier, the first time in three days. WOW! An explosion of growth. The crops look great, a lot of weed seedlings have suddenly appeared but a good hoe before next week's sun arrives should sort that out. One butt overflow needs sorting but that aside things look good. We heavily scarified and reseeded about 80% of our "lawn," a loose description for the patch of green, several weeks ago. This too is suddenly beginning to look like a patch of green, lawn, again.

I'm criticising it for being rubbish! As I said it's not realistic EVEN for a drama series. Of course tv/movies are over the top exaggeration in the most part but some are engaging etc. Yellowstone started really well and then rapidly fell off a cliff.

Just my opinion, others are available.

100% in agreement with you. Absolute puerile dross.

We started it way back and as you say it did start well.

It began to lose the plot at about the time there was a fight scene on the trans-ocean liner that was simply absurd. We let that go but not too long after a hard-done-by native Indian family was introduced for no apparent reason other than to tick the indigenous people's PC box.

And the fight and shoot'em up scenes became laughable.

Got bored and stopped right there.

I respect other opinions but this does seem like divisive viewing. 🙂

Thet fight was in 1923. The series, not the year. I wasn't so keen on that, it was more like a period action film stretched out jnto series for, though didnt dislike it, but the missus strangely loved it.

1883 is well worth a watch. A different tone to the other series, and infused with much intense gravitas from Sam Elliot and Tim McGraw. Such a sad ending, almost had big ruffty me reaching for the kleenex.

I had a red C50. My parents absolutely forbid at motorbike or scooter..................given the lax approach to drink driving 50+ years ago this probably contributed considerably to my lifespan!

Often amazed how I have reached my 60s….moped accidents & near misses (surely that is a “near hit”?)….chased through the alleys in a town in Morocco on the ‘87 Interrail Adventure….survived 3 months working a US funfair when 18 👀
Although the laryngospasm last year with a curry felt the closest I’ve been to expiring 😳

But having read the books first I found the series disappointing. Not bad, just somehow weak and flimsy.

I too, think Slow Horses was over-rated.

Like a lot of series really that divide opinion.

A friend (intelligent & well educated) raved about Stranger Things fairly recently so I had a look and by christ; what absolute drivel it was. Totally unwatchable.

I am a big fan of quality SF novels and this was at the other end of the watchability spectrum. Yet it aired to good reviews.

I must be an outlier!
