Diet.

No breakfast.

Very light lunch. Scotch egg or pot noodle or sandwich (two slices bread) and a bag of low fat crisps.

Sensible portions for dinner, no overtly greasy food such as chippy chips. Mrs D has also ceased her habit of only eating half of hers and offering it to me.

Protein shakes and kept the exercise going, as with rapid weight loss muscle mass can also erode.

We only keep the bare minimum in the house, no biscuits, cakes, etc, so snacking is eliminated- I can't eat what isn't there!

Im allowed a handful of peanuts occasionally if the cravings get a bit much, although after 4 months and 3+ stones my body seems to have re-educated itself and Im not getting the cravings much at all.

If we go out and stop at a coffee shop Ill have a slice of cake, but then ill either skip lunch entirely (if its a morning visit) or have only soup for tea (if its an afternoon visit.)

Now im well into it and I've seen significant results I've become even more disciplined, its given me the motivation to knuckle down.

And once a week im allowed a treat. Im a Revells addition, so its usually a bag of Revells on a Friday.

And its worked. Im looking and feeling pretty good and were saving a significant amount onnthe shopping bill because were not buying much crap. And most importantly im feeling really good.

And if youre asking how I did the Achilles, I did it by running while weighing 280lbs. Heart and lungs were managing it fine, but the joints and connective tissues werent.

Very good effort!

I should cut down on food

Basically if I cut out the snacks and pudding I would be fine

but since I started the gluten free thing (medical necessity - not fad diet) then I just crave sugar a lot

a diet in itself doesn;t work with me - if I feel "I have to" (even if it is me doing it) then I buck against it
I need to do it "just because"

which is a fine distinction - but I know what it takes
and doing something just before going away on holiday is a bad idea!!

Earlier, I was walking Molly back from her walk when a bunch of cyclists went past me, a bout 12 of them. I was l ess than 100 metres from home when one if them shouted: " puncture". So they all stopped and I got talking to them, asking where they were heading. They were doing a 60 miles ride.
Anyway, the guy with the puncture said he would have to quit as his tyre had a big slit in it. I knew I had a spare tyre at home so I offered it to him so he could continue but he declined.
They also ask if I would join their local club but I am not sure because I don't think I could do 60 miles at 12.5 mph average as I haven't covered that distance for a long time.
I enjoyed meeting them though. They go past my house nearly every Saturday mornings so no doubt I will see them again.

Well thats a b****r

as we are going away soon - and I cannot drink normal beer - it has to be gluten free
I ordered a pack of 8 from Amazon

We have had a long conversation with the company about my diet and they have been very helpful - we said I would take my own beer so they don;t have to bother trying to find something

They were supposed to arrive yesterday

I have just checked and the tracking says the last they heard of them was the early houts of Wednesday morning
and there is no expected date of delivery

I am sure there was a bit more on there yesterday - which has disappeared!!

anyway - what to do???

I could wait and hope

or I could ask for a refund and get some from Tesco - which is more expensive

Hmmm

Afternoon.
Just back from a stunning ride through the Cotswolds countryside.
57 miles with 3800ft climbing inc a few brutes. Brilliant though, really quiet roads and scenery superb.
