I nipped out for a short wander and nipped into the Co-op for milk. Must remember not to go again at this time of day as it was school lunch break and both the local senior schools pupils seem to go there to grab something to eat.

Well I nearly went.........paddle boarding that is, at home winds force 2
got to the beach just 10 miles away and it's a force 4 + with breaking waves, as a newbie
I wouldn't stood a chance, have to find another sheltered venue me thinks.

I didn't waste the day, just made four pork and lentil currys.

Related: as a kid it took me ages to understand how we have seasons. I finally got there with a tennis ball and a naked table lamp!

Not on the railways it doesn't. The weekly roster run from a Sunday to Saturday.

A strange one that. When you are at school or working then Monday is the 'start' of the week but as you say Sunday seems to be the traditional 1st day.

Just been out to get some milk and a few other things

I noticed a load of road signs showing that the major road junction just down the road is going to be closed to a day on the 21st

But it is a major junction and any diversions will have to go a long way round - down much smaller roads
especially a pain for anyone living here as we need to go through it for most journeys


But its all OK
we will be on a boat in the outer Hebrides!!!!

Blimey! I am getting seriously outnumbered on the start day of the week front!

If I was a fragile Millenial or Gen Z I would be having a persecution breakdown!

I think I have just followed school > college > business as being a Monday start day with retirement being no different.

If you are a desk jockey or your first working day of the week is a Monday then maybe you could call Monday the start of the week.
