It's doesn't make an appreciable difference to our bill. Its a heat pump, and thats a fairly efficient means of shifting heat from one place to another compared to heating air directly.

In the winter if im home alone I run it in reverse as a heater and just keep whichever single floor im on warm (house is a 3 storey job) and its a lot more economical than running the gas central heating.

Although I don't have solar at rhe new Drago Towers (had 5kW so,ar at the old place) im actually spending less on energy as the new gaff is so well insulated and the appliances all modern and efficient, just like me ;)

Thank you, I've never had air conditioning, even when I lived in Aussie

Well the weatherman told me lies. Its not 29 deg, it's 32 deg outside. :heat:

Luckily I have the air con on in the house so it's not to bad in here at all.

I know it’s early but afraid I already have the shorts and vest pjs on . I have the fan on and it’s keeping me pleasantly cool so far.

I am quite happy to hide indoors for a few days when it’s like this. The joys of being retired means there’s no real need to go out in it.

The Media are getting in a right tizz about the hot weather - the country is awash with melodrama these days.

Don't recall the same scale of hyperbole in '76.
I was early on in my horticultural career working on a tree nursery. I spent the whole summer out in the tree fields, cleaning, that is trimming off unwanted foliage from the young trunks, push a cane into the soil to "tie-in" the young trunk to ensure it grew straight. I don't think we wore anything except shorts and boots.............we looked like Greek Gods..........or at least that's what me and my mate Trevor thought! 🤣
