It's doesn't make an appreciable difference to our bill. Its a heat pump, and thats a fairly efficient means of shifting heat from one place to another compared to heating air directly.

In the winter if im home alone I run it in reverse as a heater and just keep whichever single floor im on warm (house is a 3 storey job) and its a lot more economical than running the gas central heating.

Although I don't have solar at rhe new Drago Towers (had 5kW so,ar at the old place) im actually spending less on energy as the new gaff is so well insulated and the appliances all modern and efficient, just like me ;)

Thank you, I've never had air conditioning, even when I lived in Aussie

Well the weatherman told me lies. Its not 29 deg, it's 32 deg outside. :heat:

Luckily I have the air con on in the house so it's not to bad in here at all.

I know it’s early but afraid I already have the shorts and vest pjs on . I have the fan on and it’s keeping me pleasantly cool so far.

I am quite happy to hide indoors for a few days when it’s like this. The joys of being retired means there’s no real need to go out in it.

The Media are getting in a right tizz about the hot weather - the country is awash with melodrama these days.

Don't recall the same scale of hyperbole in '76.
I was early on in my horticultural career working on a tree nursery. I spent the whole summer out in the tree fields, cleaning, that is trimming off unwanted foliage from the young trunks, push a cane into the soil to "tie-in" the young trunk to ensure it grew straight. I don't think we wore anything except shorts and boots.............we looked like Greek Gods..........or at least that's what me and my mate Trevor thought! 🤣

Can get a bit busy at Durdle Door but the views are stunning. Some nice pubs the other side of the harbour if you go over the bridge.
It was busyish, more than I expected. We sat on the beach for a short while and then wandered over to Lulworth. Around 28⁰ thanks to an onshore breeze at +/- 15mph.

We were amazed by the number of Indian visitors. Over 50% of the people there. Is this a thing for Indian people?

I'm left in awe of anyone who tackles the coastal pathway. The topography is undulating to say the very least, big ups and big downs. Exhausting.

A couple of hikes & a little bimble on the Brommie has been enjoyed.. Quite warm and tiring but at least the campsite is fairly quiet 🤫

Yes Durdle Door seems to be a huge attraction for Indian visitors. We used to visit the Black Bear in Wool on our " Second Friday " monthly meet ups ( it's a train stop between Poole and Weymouth) There's a bus that goes down to Lulworth Cove that leaves from outside. In summer the train from Poole was often packed with Indian families who took the bus down to the Cove. You're not far from Bovington Tank Museum which is well worth a visit, and just up the road from there is Monkey World, again well worth a visit.
With regard to the coast path, there's an annual event called the " Dorset Doddle " which starts beside the Clock Tower on Weymouth prom and finishes in Swanage. About 30 miles over the coast path, cheap to enter and you get a meal at the finish. It's a tad hilly but you do get to see the blown up tanks as you cross Lulworth ranges ( they do suspend live firing exercises so you don't have to keep shouting " Incoming! " and chucking yourself to the ground during the race 😁)
