Another baker today, and no water due to local supply failure! Wife is at work with my car, so the only way to get water is to cycle to another settlement, which probably requires more water than I can carry.

Warm start here in the Eastern Angles although there is a nice cool breeze wafting in through the window, will get to 31 later on though.

Two coffees and breakfast done plus the washing up.

Might hop on the turbo while it's not too hot otherwise a chill outdrink plenty of water and read a book day I think.

Good morning all.
A pleasant 17 at the moment, set to reach 28 later. Hard to believe that as a young man I revelled in it but cant stand it now.
I'm feeling a bit more alive today, those vitamin drips have done well.
A true funny story from my incarceration.
Om my last day, lunch was a very nice soup followed by tuna mayo sandwich.
I opened the sandwich to look at the contents and thought "not much mayo on there"..... I then spied a seperate pot of mayo. Bit unusual but I open it and spread some over the tuna.
Bit into it a thought "that's a funny taste". I looked at the pot only to find it was dairy ice cream !!!.
I couldn't bin it so I chomped it, it was odd but actually quite nice.

Glad to hear you are feeling better!!!

and that you are home!

Blimey, you are in trouble!

It's nothing new, although the combination with blazing hot weather is. We are about 400ft above the aquifer (in the chalk bedrock), and the supply is normally pumped up to a reservoir which supplies two farms and several houses. If there's a leaky pipe in a field somewhere, the reservoir runs dry, and the whole system has to be primed again and refilled, which takes at least 24 hours. There is a water level alarm, but somehow it doesn't always work.

Well - SWMBO was annoyed yesterday

The bathroom mirror - which is electric and has a light and shaver socket (for toothbrushes) on it
has broken

WHich gave her the opportunity to get a new one
good idea really as the new one has a cupboard as well

anyway - it was arriving yesterday
tracking info arrived and I checked it all out first thing
arriving between 12:13 and 14:13
which seems oddly accurate - but not the time format

anyway - I went for a ride in the morning as it is heavy so I need to be in for it

time of arrival came and the lorry on the tracking map was close
then it wenr off towards Warrington
then came back but to the South of us
during which time the delivery estimate went up to 14:00-16:00
and just kept going back

then changed to 6:09PM to 8:09PM - note time format has changed

and ended up as 07:58PM to 09:58PM

and during this times sometimes the lorry on the map disappeared then came back again

after a LONG time the delivery time disappeared and a message came up saying they were sorry it was delayed
but they were working on how to get it to us today

then I noticed that the above message was still there
but the estimated delivery date had changed to 8th - i.e. today not yesterday

some time later I noticed an email sent about 5 pm saying the delivery was delayed and they would tell me when it was due on the new day

so very mixed messages
resulting in us waiting in for it all day

sounds to me like the driver missed us my accident or they forgot to load it on the lorry!!!

annoying as originally my wifes nephew was going to come round yesterday evening to help me fit it as it is heavy

he is now coming this evening instead - but that was just because he wanted to take his other half out for a meal

Just how complicated can delivery stuff be???
as I said - I reckon they cocked it up and made it worse by trying to hide it

"doesn't always work"
is often a euphemism for "is not maintained properly"

Have they no idea why this keeps happening? Nothing you can take at home to help avoid it happening again?

17 degrees already and I was getting too warm on my walk. I seem to be getting more heat intolerant the older I get. Not sure I'll be back out.

I was about to say that

are they looking at why your system decided to not take in the nutrients??

it could be that you need more supplements
or it could be that you innards just don;t absorb them for some reason

I have the latter problem due to Coeliac Disease and I reckon I am going to end up on monthly iron infusions

Which is better than a lot of alternatives!!
