Terrible news. A family disaster has struck. #1 granddaughter has told her Dad she wants to support Manchester United! She's been pictured in a shirt. I want to know where that came from!!! xx( Now she lives 8 miles from Turf Moor and 13 from Ewood Park. Had she said Burnley, it is a claret area, I could have taken it, just, only just............but United!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had a word with her father, I'll buy her a season ticket, shirt and get her to Ewood ASAP.......................no, not really but I will be working on this, she's young, impressionable.........we are Rovers in this family.

Tea tonight will be baked potatoes, ham, coleslaw and lettuce. One of my favourites. Mrs P is sprawled on the sofa watching tennis she says she isn't very interested. She enjoy what she's given!

Apologies for the 😂
I can tell it's a serious matter... 👍

#2 grandson was (with my encouragement) all for Liverpool.........then when he was approx 8 the kids at school influenced him to be a Utd fan.
Ive spent many years trying to show him the error of his ways but to no avail.

Similar story in our house when the kids were young. I think youll like this Dave. The eldest, then about 6, one tea time asked:

#1 son "Tom and Billy support Man U. Why can't I?"
Dad "How often do Tom and Billy go to football?"
#1 son "Never"
Dad "How often do you go?"
#1 son "Every week"
Dad "That's why you support Rovers."

Two years later he was at Anfield with his Dad on the ever glorious May 14th 1995. Tom and Billy never did that.

My lad bleeds blue and white

As the great Bill Shankly once said...."there are 2 great teams in this city, Liverpool and Liverpool reserves".

When I was a kid I loved Shankly's humour and other stories that came out of Liverpool. I don't if it's true but I hope it is. Apparently a popular poster at Liverpool churches asked:

"What will you do when Jesus comes to Liverpool?

The story goes someone scrawled the response:

"Move St John to inside right"

Its true, I saw it.
It said some thing like "play him att centre half and move Tommy Smith to the back" that's not exactly correct but it was similar.
A true story........ in the 70s I took Sue into the kop, we were playing Ipswitch. Some guy nearby shouted "watch your language lads theres a lady present"
I shouted "that's no lady, that's my wife".

Grandson was born after daughter and her partner moved to Leeds. They would visit in the school holidays and he would attend football training camp at Wimborne Town FC ( The Magpies) run by Matty Holmes. This went on for several years and when he started secondary school he started supporting Man City. Fortunately this only lasted a couple of years before I got a phone call telling me he really wanted to support AFC Bournemouth 🍒. His Christmas present from then on was Bournemouth team kit and I felt really proud when unprompted he asked that the kit not have the sponsors name on it as it was a company that promoted gambling.

Well sailing didn’t go well , wind strength was 10 gusting 30mph ! and shifting though 120 degrees at the same time. . A lot of people went swimming 😂.i had fun but my shins are black and blue after falling back into the boat after capsizing.

Re football am 63 years old was born in Telford ( where everyone supported Wolves or West Brom ) and have lived in various parts of the West Midlands all my life and have supported Everton since I was seven or eight and I have no idea why . 😂🙂

I detest football and everything associated with it.
Hope that's not contraversial...
