Just been reading a few articles about end-of-year collection for teachers

one said the average has reached £500!!

WHAT??

I got a botu 2 small present in 15 years in schools
OK most was in secondary school
but it never made sense that a Primary teacher needs a collection
but once they get to be teenagers - with all that entails - then the teachers will be just fine

and when I was in a Primary - the teachers did get a few presents - but the school catchment area was "not well off" so it would be a few small boxes of chocolates and maybe a bottle of wine if they were lucky

I got a pair of socks once but that was for doing a lot of things that her Dad had worked like mad for before he died
and I got it all working and made it what he had dreamed of

seems like madness to me
As a class we bought our woodwork teacher twenty 2lb bags of Quality Street. And with the help of the deputy head*, we managed to get them into just about anywhere he'd be likely to go.

*He walked into the class offering him a toffee finger from one of the bags.

Good evening from a beautiful sunny evening in Lancashire. I must say I'm enjoying this game.

Well, 65 miles of gravel today. Lots of shade, breeze by the canal, good chat and great coffee. At one point I rode through a patch of cow parsley and a huge flotilla of butterflies took to the air in front of me. A beautiful sight.

On the downside I got stung. By a wasp, perhaps a hornet........on the arse. Geez it hurts.....still

I think I enjoyed my sailing and glass of wine more than most people enjoyed the match . Oh well at least we have the euros in two years time .
Night night folks . 🙂
