Off to bed. Another decent bronze for Scotland in the women’s 5000 metres. Megan Keith made an early break and managed to to hold on for third place behind two very impressive Australians.

A Scottish lad is doing quite well in the Decathlon too so far.

Morning. 6 degrees here It’s lovely.

Must try and walk a bit further this morning. I seem to be doing less than usual lately. It’s so easy to start letting things slip when you get older.

Good morning all.
He battery in the downstairs smoke alarm is running low so the warning beep started up and woke us up just before 5am.
Another warm day in prospect with no sign of rain.
The cats have been fed and have run off diwn the garden, and as usual Harry has come in tom his nightly wanderings.
A very early walk with the dog will be had
There is a meeting of the Escape committee this afternoon at the Railway Bell 🔔

Popped into the opticians yesterday as I wanted to swap the lenses in my new specs from single vision to Varifocal. These lady said they could, but it would be cheaper if I selected a new pair from their " Budget " range. Had a mooch around the racks and found a pair I liked so took them to the counter. The lady asked me to try them on which I did, and I asked her and her colleague to be brutally honest and tell me if they looked ok. They were both very positive and said they really suited me before informing me that I had chosen a pair from the Ladies range 🤔. There then followed a bit of banter about me being a " new man " and feeling comfortable in my new identity 🤣

MrsP and myself have picked several boxes of blackberries in the last week or so.
Even with the lack of rain they are a good size and very sweet.

They are excellent here and are really early as well.

Morning all.
WoW, that was a good sleep. In bed and asleep by 9 last night and, apart from a pee, slept till 05.45........couldn't tell you the last time I did that.
Dentist this morning, he is concerned about decay in 4 front bottom teeth.
Definitely cooler today at 9° .
I will try for a stroll before the dentists.

Speaking of cooler weather, the early morning breeze through the open upstairs windows made me feel a bit chilly. Managed to tough it out without reaching for my dressing gown 😁
