Guess it's not a snoozy kinda day! 😏

Sorry to disagree but I've just come round (nearly) from a good 90 minute snooze

Barnet,
Been for a ride

it was delayed because I got the bike out and was checking the tyre pressure and it started raining

so I had a cuppa and it carried on raining off and on

so I gave up and went anyway - long version of normal route - and didn;t get wet once!!

anyway - more people due to Saturday
did notice a strange thing that happens occasionally

3 times when a bike rider did not seem to recognise that if 2 cyclist/bike riders are approaching each other on a path then both should go to their left to pass - same as a road
most people seem to do that
I discount situations where walkers or dogs or kids complicate matter

I also discount times when the other rider is wobbly and ride on the side away from the canal or whatever - I can see their point
but if it JUST 2 riders - it seems like the obvious thing to just behave as if it is a road

but 3 times today other riders seemed to go to their right - without a good reason to do so - twice we sorted it out and both went left
but once I had to go right as he just stayed there

all 3 cases were ones with clear vision long before it became critical - not like just appearing round a bend

what do other people do??

Too many people don't know the rules of the road, or don't care about them.
Whether it's a cycle path or a road you should stay on the left, but there are too many numpties about.

Is "stay to the left" an actual rules for a shared path off the actual road

so like a track alongside a canal which is wide enough for 2 bikes to pass easily

Clearly the rules exists for a road - and I presume the same would apply to a 2 way cycle path beside the road

but away from an actual road??
is it written down ??
or just logical and sensible

Well I've moved but the weathers still hot, high mid 30's today, and to make matters worse my aircon decided to stop working and then after a quick shopping stop it decided to start working again, so currently parked up on the banks of the Loire, I watched the sunset after a quick dip and it's now a much more pleasant 27°C so sitting outside as the vans still a bit hot.

Hot air balloon excitement. About 90 minutes ago three landed in the field out the front of Drago Towers, and five more drifted past. One of those that went by didnt have a gondola but a guy hanging underneath it on some kind of harness.

Perhaps he was having a shocker of a day as the gondola had dropped off, and his "working at height" harness & lanyard saved the day, despite crushing the Crown Jewels
