Sounds good

I’ll get out as soon as there’s a glimmer of light. I feel it’s a bit early to start with head torch walks yet.

Good morning all.
A bit of very high cloud in the sky at the moment.and quite cool. 12⁰
MrsP is going out for the day with her friend who's birthday it is so it is just me and the animals.
I'll drop her off at the station later and then go to sainsburys to get something for tea.
I'll be out and about on the bike later on :bicycle: before catching up with the Women's tour of Britain and the Vuelta Espana.

G'day cobbers.
I had, maybe am still having, a good kip. I woke for a pee brake at 03.00 and thought "that's it, i won't get back to sleep".....well i did and slept right throught till 07.00 which i am happy with.
9° here and blue skies all round. Set to get warmer quite quickly.
I will give it a while and the try another walk, maybe increase it to 2 miles.
Have a good day peeps.

Morning.
Nice and sunny and due to warm up which is perfect for ride today. A few from our cycling club are joining another for a ride around my area so ideal for me. Due to be around 40miles with a lunch stop so perfect. I also know all the hills of the planned route and there's a couple of beauties!

It was a cool 6 degrees for my walk. A road loop covering just over 9 miles. Very peaceful early on a Sunday morning.

Just finished my overnight protein porridge with blueberries. Feeling a bit chilled now so have my fleecy blanket over my knees and clutching a bit mug of decaf.

Bit of a lie-in again today so just the one coffee so far and a big breakfast.

Nothing planned today but may give the bags off the Stayer a clean and do some more tidying in the garden.

Sunny here but a nice temp at the moment.

A Q day today. Off to the Lincolnshire Molds [sic] tomorrow for the week, so a Q day of chilling and packing the van before hitting the road on the morrow. Fortunately both dogs are well used to the van so will shrug the journey off better than I will.

Back in the early 80s I worked with a guy who sailed at West Kirby. So, I guess his age would be mid to late 70s now.
His name was Peter**. Slim, may 5'9".
A bit pompous imo.
**I think his surname began with a 'W'......maybe Winstanley but can't remember.
Just wondered if it rang any bells.

No - not that I can remember but I mostly associated with people who sailed the boats similar to the one I sailed in - i.e. small dinghies
The people who sailed bigger boats - could sometime be a bit stuffy about it
sort of like the type that rides a carbon road bike who won;t talk to someone who rides a hybrid (or worse still - an ebike!!!)

Funny thing about sailing - it obviously attracts a certain type of person

Clubs like West Kirby mostly don;t attract the really rich set because the boats that can sail from there are all quite small
and you often get quite mucky just getting to your boat - that "sand" around the Wirral gets VERY sticky when you get out of the "nice bits"
and there was always the rumour that the word "sand" was doing more heavy lifting that the Water Companies wanted to admit!!!

So people who were overly found of their image tended to avoid the sailing - those that did sail and tried to be posh tended to lose their "poshness" when covered in "mud"
or when stuck in the boatyard trying to fix the engine or find out why the boat is leaking and getting covered in oil and "bilge water"

On a similar point - when I sailed at Hoylake the planners for the races were always on the lookout for days when the wind and tides were correct to get that bit further offshore.
The furthest turning point was a specific buoy marked "Sewer"
I was told NOT to fall overboard around there!!
