Morning.
Nice day again and warm, might be the last one for a while as rain due this week.
Busy day again, we're having new garden gates installed and new carpets tomorrow so we're moving furniture etc. Never realise how much stuff is in a room until need to move it.

Good morning all.
The last day of sunshine before the welcome rain arrives tomorrow.
The washing machine is on, and a second wash for the dark stuff will follow.
Sainsburys are delivering the weekly goodies this morning then I'll go up to the library, I have a book to return and I will find a couple to take out.

Fresh and bright here this morning with rain due later.

Had Breakfast and coffee and will go shopping and thrifting in a bit, will be carrying a fair bit back as Waitrose has a 6 boottle wine offer on.

Not much else planned today, might look at the guttering on the greenhouse and some more tidying.

Well, that were a shock.
I am normally awake at some ungodly hour around 05.30-6ish......today i slept through till 07.45.
It knackers my plans up a bit.
I have a recommended window cleaner calling this morning "after 10 30" as my present one has become very unreliable. So.......I had planned an Aldi trip followed by an early walk. Not sure what to do now as I is due to be hot hot hot by 12.00

Do you find your butt is full all winter and even dribbles and overflows?

I do.. Nothing really needs watering in the butt-full months. Only the hanging baskets need a splash as they're under the eaves.

Morning

Well Yesterday was a bit strange
Grand daughter had stayed overnight so we could get her (teenage girl and all that) and her gran up and out before 10
and drive 2 hours to Hardwick Hall
She like coming out with us to look at old building - Tudor and the like

Anyway - Hardwick is amazing as it hasn;t been "mucked about with" as I put it
the guides go on about "left in original condition" and several paragraphs more but I think I put it better

anyway - got there OK - but a bit late (did I mention teenage girls - and her Gran is worse!!)

so went straight into the house

went round and got out and started back as she normally has Dinner/tea early with her younger brothers

anyway - the Sat Nav took us a scenic but wiggly route there in about 2 hours
but decided that we needed a different route back

but it turns out that includes the WoodHead Pass - which is closed
the Sat Nav in teh car is good - but the traffic thing on it "has been discontinued"
apparently Honda were annoyed as it was supposed to be a lifetime thing for the car
but Garmin then said it wasa lifetime subscription - but if the "discontinued" the product then that is different

anyway - it doesn;t know about traffic and road closures and all that

so we said "OK - we'll just carry on and see where we go
after a but we checked on Google Maps and it seemed OK

but we ended up coming NORTH of Manchester via Oldham which was a weird and very long way to get from Derbyshire to Aintree!!!

Anyway

whatever - we got back

Oh -today

Bloke coming to talk about trimming down the bush at the front of the garden - by the road
I have a long reach trimmer but it has just been getting fractionally higher every year and I just can;t get the middle done any more

so it need dropping in height by a couple of feet and the back and side taking in a bit
then I will be able to keep it down for a decade or two

In fact - it was several years after I moved in that I discovered there was a kerb under it - since then I have kept it a foot in from that so I have managed to take it back a bit
but the top has just got away from me

after that I am going to a party

well picnic
probably indoors

It is a Social Event - for AgeUK volunteers - we shall see how that goes
I am always nervous about things like that
Socialising is always stressfull and i don;t really know these people as we all work just form a supervisior and never see each other
which I suppose is the point!

AND I reckon one bloke that I do see once in a while - doesn;t like me and avoiding ever having to talk to me
(dunno why)

so we shall see!
