Wet and windy although supposedy to brighten later.
Various chores today but mainly GETTING READY FOR NEW BIKE!

6.2 mile walk done and it stayed dry.
Half way through a 4 egg omelette with tomatoes and mushrooms in it. Rather nice.
I have never eaten more than 2 eggs in one sitting. 4 seems a real challenge but they are good for you.

About an hour after my mention about needing more rain (up tread) it certainly rained, almost monsoon proportions. It has eased now and should be dry by lunchtime. If I get out it will be on the winter bike with guards and my new Rockbros pedals.

I pity the poor holidaymakers here right now. Must be the pits in their motor homes and caravans.

Rain has eased off, 7mm so far today.
Grass is slowly recovering, and I've seeded it as well to try and give it a fighting chance to fight back from the damage Geddy has done to it.
I'll take the boys for a short walk about half 11, then lunch and a snooze.

According to the Environment secretary we should all start stocking up on tinned foods for when either Elnino or the apocalypse, whichever comes first gets us. We should have enough for at least two days.
Panic buying will now start, with toilet rolls being the first to dissappear from the shelves. Tasty.😁

Mrs ’s buying habits for tinned pulses and tinned tomatoes usually means we have about a 4 weeks supply if we were to a have a couple of tins a day.🫣

I've a row of shelving lining one wall of my garage with 300 tins of food, dried food, candles, lighters, water, weapons, bum rag, radios, batteries, batteries to run my ham radio, all the rest of it. I can monitor and transmit on the electromagnetic spectrum from 50hz up to almost 950Mhz. I had about 8 months supply of bog roll when the strange covid era bum rag panic buying hit.
I also keep the camper topped up, and jn the event the gas or electricity grid goes down we can sleep there and use the Webasto heater to keep warm, not to mention the 60 litres of water in the underslung tank.
We also have a very comprehensive first aid kit including syringes, blood expanders, tourniquet, etc, and a good supply of additional medicines for Mrs D stored in a Yeti toolbox.
On topmp of that we have hazmat suits,respirators, several thousand regular face masks, buses of gloves and overshoes.
And my geiger counter.
A camping stove and a box of 48 gas cannisters, and a box of dispoable lighters. Also have gas hob and grill in the van with its own gas supply.
I also have stuff like sugar, coffee, tea bags. Aside from being nice to have and good for morale they could be useful trade items.
I consider it both my civic duty and a moral duty to my family to be self sufficient for at least 3 months, and possibly longer with care, with everything necessary to sustain ourselves.
Putin, the next virus, a dirty bomb attack, whatever, I'm prepared to survive it and have the means to defend myself if things get really desperate and someone else decides the want it.

If the wheel comes off the speed at which things will deteriorate will make your head spin, and those who are unprepared will be competing with the other 95% of the population for those scant responses that our just-in-time retail and industrial sector keep available.
Yes, I know someone who is doing that. I asked how long should we stock up for, 1 week, 1 month ??? Where would I put this stocked food.
