Bonjour from sunny North Wales after heavy rain during the night.
I might go for a ride later if it stays like that.

I am due for one this month too.

I am told it takes only 10 minutes or so and you keep your clothes on (that would be PJs for Mo)......but not to wear belts with buckles.

The only thing I can put your weird tastes down to is the time you spent living in North Wales.

But I hated cheese from a very young age!!!
which was - for the record - not in Wales

My mother was however born in Wrexham - accidentally apparently
and my surname is Welsh in origin


but I believe Cheese is quite popular in Wales
they even spoil perfectly good toast by putting some on it!!

Just checked my phone re' my hospital appointment only to find I've had a brain fart and its Thursday.....not today.

My first reaction to that was "why what day is it today???"

once you're retired the days can seem to blend into a single mass

It is weird to think that when I was worked my life revolved round a strict timetable where day and time were very strictly adhered to !!!

There is a very tasty soft cheddar from Wales called Y Fenni, it's made with mustard seeds and ale. I have bought quite a bit of over the years, last time, I bought a whole wheel from the welsh cheese company. I cut it into wedges and the regulars at the Mitre bought most of it
It is instant Welsh rarebit if sliced and put on toast.
I believe that Y Fenni is the old Welsh name for Abergavenny

My job took me around Europe plus working with 18 UK reps so appointments were made months in advance. My life revolved around my diary, wall calendar and phone. That was fine, it was just 'my life'.
But as you say, retirement makes you less reliant on days/dates. No problem when Sue was here, she was excellent with such things as appointments, birthdays and anniversaries......I dont have that skill.

I used to buy dad the Countryfile calendar every year and it hung in the kitchen. As soon as they got any medical appointments in they stuck it straight on the calendar.

I nipped out for 2.5 miles before the next rain is due. Nipped into the Co-op for some more blueberries and bought some dried pasta and pasta sauce. I'm not sure why I've never really bothered with it before. I always assumed it was mega high in calories but it doesn't seem that bad and surprisingly has more protein in it than I thought. I always thought it was basically pure carbs. It will be a handy staple to have in the cupboard.

This stupid ad at the top of my page always makes me think it's a guy that's either been stabbed or has developed women's problems.
