Raining again.

CH on plus we have lit the open fire to cheer the place up.

Lazy afternoon of reading beckons.

Was going to do my gym but my knee, which I thought was better yesterday, has reverted to painful today. Grrr!

Is it the September Triple Lock figures that our State Pension for 27/28 is calculated on?

Stay happy, all!

I believe that the state pension increases by 3.9% in April next year. This is due to average earnings rising by this amount. CPI and inflation was below this figure.

While having my afternoon cuppa I watched a video on AdTube of 3 guys magnet fishing in the canal in Manchester - yes you've guessed it - they hauled out 3 bikes which they parked out of the way on the towpath so they could collect them when they finished fishing - yes you've guessed it again! when they returned to collect them they had all been re-stolen and thrown back in the canal, I guess Manchester has a catch and return policy for canal magnet fishing

I can hear everything and often stop to have a conversation with other dog walkers.

My hearing with my adaptive pod things in is better than Mrs D's normal hearing (shes hearing imapired).

Or I can change the settings and block put all the ambient noise, but I like a morning chat so leave it on adaptive and it mutes when it hears human voices. Clever stuff.

That probably explains some of the people i have seen

the ability to switch it also explains some of the people i meet on rides that cannot her quite a loud ding-a-ling-ling bike ringing 3 times!!!

SLight cok-up on the time front here

We had forgotten that we had a phone meeting with someone at 2pm

SO he rang and I ended up having to dash around to get paper and pen and something to writ eon that was flat

I just grabbed a book from near the paper - which was by the printer in the "old garage" which is basically fulll of junk

anyway that all went well

then we had dinner this evening
and we weer just clearing the table and my wife asked

in a querying sort of voice

why there was a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey on the table

she was talking about the book I had grabbed and it was still on the table

I had to correct her

Fifty SHEDS of Grey

SHEDS!!!

it is a book full of jokes on the subject of sheds
the sort of jokes I like
(yes - that bad - the sort she rolls her eyes at)

Honestly - did she think I would read the other one

OK - I did start to watch it when it came on a TV channel when I was still living alone
out of "interest" - obviously

got about 10 minutes in and just thought it was rubbish and switched it off!!!

Evening folk spent the day mostly talking to electricians about rewires . I think my idea that the costs would be in the 5 to 6 grand range were a little hopeful. Two quotes are in so far , £9000 …….and £13500 !
The last one is definitely taking the p@ss. 😀

I paid £4500 last year for a full rewire on a three bed house, six sparkies crashed it out in one day, I had to make good all of the chases.
