I keep forgetting to ask. What have you done to the knee? When I had knee issues, significant ones, I found my physio was a great help.

Twisted right knee whilst strimming a patch of garden that slopes quite steeply.

I am redoing my gym routine plan to avoid stressing the knee for a while and will see how it goes.

It responds well to Ibuprofen gel so I hope it is just muscle strain and not structural.

This drives me round the friggin' bend. When we gravel ride we are often on towpaths, shared paths etc. The people with headphones never hear our bells which we start to ring from 30/40 yards away. We can be right on top of them shouting and they hear nothing............and then we get dirty looks for whizzing by them from behind 🤬

Or you could just creep up behind and startle them. You were being cautious.

Quiet day in this area. Took a bike to have the chain set swapped but wasn't that simple. Having left the bike I rode tram/bus to Uppermill in the Saddle worth area where I had noticed a cheese shop and new café had opened. Grand Caffe Veloce had to be looked at if only for the name but turned out to be very good. As was the cheese shop (Tyromancer). Also a really good bakery in the village which I shall into on bike rides to get a cake/pastie for the ride home or out. Booked a couple of cycle holidays (Dolomites and Stelvio) but age (67) is conspiring against me for those areas. Also booked tickets for Cardinal Black (up and coming band with a great guitar player Chris Buck) so not a cheap day.

Mrs D is cock-a-hoop as a new M&S food hall opens near us tomorrow. She's a terrible snob, won't shop anywhere south of Waitrose. She wouldnt cross the threshold at Sainsbury's without a scarf and dark glasses. She had an attack of the vapours when I get excited at the sight of a greasy burger van selling hot dogs made from stray dogs.

The nearest Booths to us Ripon closed because it was uneconomical which is apparently a Booths thing. Give it a couple of years and if it’s losing money shut it.
It however was a nice shopping experience not cheap but some good local stuff on offer. When we go to to Lakes, we usually head to Booths in Keswick to do a big shop before heading home.
We once rented an apartment in Keswick across the car park from Booths. I head to bolt the doors to stop Mrs W from being in there at any excuse.😂😂😂
