I was following a discussion about delivery companies and how unreliable many of them are. One wag made the comment that their local Amazon driver is excellent, and had even made a " welfare check " on the house after his wife hadn't ordered anything for 3 days 😂

In the series Oldman is good but in the books Lamb seems fatter and even more crude and shabby. Still a stone killer. The Diana role is depicted by Scott Thomas perfectly for me. Attractive, ruthless, dedicated to her job and herself. Would throw anyone/everyone under the bus

In the books the various political figures woven into the stories are far more readily identifiable. Of course they had to obfuscate that in the screen version.

I seem to remember that they have to use data based on specific requirement
ratehr than using what data they want
because before that some dodgy companies used data that made them look better - rather than data with a connection to reality
so they made companies use the same thing
which works for some - but it rubbish to others

In our case - we have just had a phone call back from our installer from several years ago

I asked them if it was possible to change our system
a) to allow us to use the batteries in the case of a power cut/failure/destruction
apparently this require a "gateway" so he is letting us know the price
b) to increase battery storage so we can get more advantage from the sun (not the newspaper) and from off-peak charging tariffs
c) add some extra panels to the front - which is pretty North West facing but has clear sight of the sun even when it is low down

apparently the batteries are available - but his comment was that he might get lucky but it might be easier to find The Holy Grail!!!

still - he is sending us a price

I think all the solar installers have to use the same solar modelling software PVGIS. It's free to use ( there's a website )

As long as you put in the correct information it is remarkably accurate. You can play around and see the effects of adding solar panels to a different roof orientation ( in hindsight I should have filled my north west facing roof while the scaffolding was up ). Our forecast from 5.25kWp of panels was a tad over 5000kWh per year. The panels were installed towards the end of November 2023 and the total generation so far is 16,500kWh with about 6 weeks to go.
