The day gets better.
Got about a mile and a half out of town before some close pass p***k had me off onto the verge. Broad daylight, nothing immediately coming the other way, so I can only conclude it was deliberate. Anyone who thinks daytime lights or high bis makes them any safer is a fool.
Bike undamaged, wrenched my left knee where I went over on my nearside. Sadlyndid not have the foresight to wear a helmet on my knee. Managed to ride home slowly. Taxi driver coming the other way stopped to check I was ok. He has a dashcam, will check when he finishes and call me. Also he would have passed an ANPR camera less than 30 seconds before encountering me so theres a change of an ID.
Reported to dibble. Doesnt look like the boys will be getting their lunchtime walk.
Evening all .
Not done a lot today, we went to Anglesey to see if we could see red squirrels and found some at newborough 😀. Had lunch at a very nice local cafe, then stopped at Bangor on the way home just to go on the pier .
It was a good day . 😀
Used to live in Bangor - the pier is nice - always loved walking up it and back
When I was in the army me and some friends went to Bangor. Thismwoi,d have been 87 or 88. The four of us walked into a pub and every patron turned and stared at us and the place went silent.
We had such an unpleasant welcome from some of the natives over our stay that when one of my mates chucked his motorbike up the road we rode back to Hereford to get him looked at. My pillion was my GF of the time and she was Welsh, albeit living in England, and was disgusted at the way we were treated, haughtily breaking into welsh on several occasions to give them a bollarding.
Mind you, my own coutrymwn arent much better. Having lived neerly all my adult life in England and having been to public school Ive very little Scottish in my accent. Went to see my mate Gordon in Glasgow and got the cold shoulder and a few sarky comments a few times, so following my ex GFs example I broke into Shetlandic to remind them who the real soft southerners are. Never have a problem visiting my mate Keith in Edingburgh though.
