Ignorant and/or biased ITV commentators have just demonstrated a total lack of knowledge of the laws; the ball has to be grounded to score a try, not dropped over the line.
They were absolutely astonished when it was disallowed.

On the positive side, David Flatman is one of my favourite presenters.

Italy are really impressive. I just wish they'd win more.

(Tedious pedantic point "downward pressure" is not a requirement for grounding the ball. The words aren't in the laws. I think it's a Rugby League term)

Whoops, true dat. The player does need to be touching the ball, though, which Lowe clearly wasn't.

It's popular in this thread to moan about "what I don't like/understand about Rugby these days".

Here's my bugbear: The way that the team with the throw in ambles up late to the lineout. I don't know why it annoys me, but it does. Just form a fecking line, can't you.
