What is it about Bristol at Ashton Gate - referees give them everything, even 30-70 decisions!
Tempest having a bit of a mare.

He’s that bad I thought to TMO was going to penalise for persistent offside.

Wondered how a free kick to Wales at a scrum turned into a penalty by the time the kick was taken, and they kicked straight to touch and got the lineout?

Also, the TMO coming in for an off the ball tackle at the back of the scrum that wasn't an off the ball tackle?
None of the on field officials thought it was an offence.
Is there an issue with most TMOs not being regular on pitch international referees?

Yeah that free kick / penalty thing was odd.

Not sure what the other part you’re talking about is. If the eye gouge then it’s easily missed on field but was absolutely blatant and even Rassie thought it was bad.

No it wasn't the eye gouge, it was at a scrum up near the Welsh try line, Wales got the ball to the back of the scrum, their no8 touched the ball as if to pick up but didn't pick up and SA scrum half came round and tackled him as he was doing so. TMO came in with a 'tackled without the ball' ruling but when the on field ref and assistants looked at it on the big screen, they all agreed it was fine, no offence.

TMO came in with that it was a possible tackle off the ball and recommended that the ref check it. That’s part of the TMO’s role.

So. Officials make mistakes. It will always happen, just that TMO give an extra opportunity for initial mistakes to happen, compared to the past.

Yeah I know but the TMO had plenty time to look at it before coming in and then nobody else agreed with him

The thing I don’t like is when the TMO actively tries to get the ref to change a decision rather than saying what they believe they’ve seen and leaving the ref to review.
