Could be due to his legal training, where you have to assume that everyone is stupid.

Ha, quite possibly. I just like how he was always "Coming in from the side of the ruck. Can't do that." Rather than "Well, now what's happened here is blah blah blah" after which the game has already moved on.

More of a cup tie than a Gallagher premiership match in Ashton Gate tonight. The two fastest men in the league go head to head and neither gets more than the scraps.

Now George has officially retired and left his French club Provence, I thought that I would mention that they reached the final of the pro deux, knock out competition for promotion to the top 14, last night.
Ironic as he was one of their big buys to get them to this point.

Hell of a game. Not sure why Freeman stepped back inside but that was a superb tackle on him and then the other on the opposite wing.

Well, that was quite the match. A proper nail biter. Everyone thought Gloucester would roll over, but they fought right to the final whistle.

Hotting up for the last game of the season:

Bath against Leicester still looks like a decider for 2nd place and a home semi-final (there is a wierd permutation where Bath could win and Leicester still get two bonus points and come higher on points difference, but very far-fetched).

Exeter against Saracens for the last play-off place (same provision as above, but even more far-fetched).

Bath vs Tigers for a home semi has been the miost likely thing for about a month or more.

I don’t know if it’s nerves or pressure but the Tigers, Chiefs game has been a catalogue of errors. Rather deflating after the Saints Gloucester spectacular.

Exeter thoroughly deserved their win against a Leicester side that looked anything other than a top 3 team.
The pointless Tigers look to be heading for an away spot, with Bath very much in line for the home draw.

This result means Bristol’s slim hopes of qualifying are gone.
