I’ve watched a few Prem games this season and it feels like the way it’s going. I know the sport has gone through phases since it turned pro with periods of it being defence dominated, attack dominated with running rugby, kick game dominated or forwards dominated, often due to law changes. Recent law changes seem to be benefiting an attacking game and I like that but I still want to see tackles rather than players running through gaps at will.

Yes, we don’t want to go back to muddy 10-3 slogs but it’s getting a bit loose. There’s a danger of it becoming like basketball where only the last 10 minutes have any bearing on the result.

It’s turning out to be a heck of a European opener in Gloucester.

Nothing lasts forever and Canada have finally broken England Women’s unbeaten run.
The writing was on the wall last month with a draw at Twickenham.
Now in the return leg in Toronto they have won 24-21. They were down 5-14 at half time.
It’s amazing to see a non traditional rugby nation become so good.

Had to happen sometime. As much as I respect and admire the Red Roses, their brutal dominance was getting a bit tiresome. Hopefully this inspires other nations to invest more in their ladies teams.

This is the first game I've been able to watch of the rugby league World Cup.

England are going to have to up their game, or hope that Tonga somehow get tired (which I don't think they will).

Just watched the highlights. Canada were very good. England dropped a lazy ball over the line in the first 5 minutes which has basically cost them the game.

Did you see the France game last night.
They lost 78-4 to Samoa.

the Island nations can dominate through sheer speed and size. Plus they have great ball skills.

Like I said, this is the first game I've been able to watch.

I've always enjoyed watching the Island Nations play rugby, especially at sevens.

I watched it live and very good match but Canada got away lightly at scrum as England hammered them. Must have been 10 scrum pens but only 1 card.

Not sour grapes, Canada were good but England hard done by

Why channel are the European matches on? I was looking forward to an afternoon of rugby but nothing on TNT or Sky Sports as far as I could see.

Dragons improvement continued with a good win over Perpignan last night. The threat of a team getting cut in Wales seems to have concentrated minds there.

Premier Sports.

The Saracens defence is non existent against Connaught. Maybe there is something in the recent criticism of the Gallagher “style”.
45 points shipped and a quarter of an hour still to play.

The constant changes and multiple channels really annoys me.

i used to like TNT for the cycling, boxing and rugby. Plus other football. But now the boxing and rugby are much reduced. I spend so much on various subscriptions already that i’m not paying more.

Bath committing error after error and failing to convert any of their numerous opportunities.
Montpellier soaking it all up and being far more clinical.
Only one score in it though with 20 minutes left.

Was at the game.
Really disappointing - huge number of handling errors, totally failed to reseource the rucks and so conceeding repeated penalties.
Montpellier deserved winners, but my god, Piardi is a dreadful referee and it really felt the officials only looked at one side - the number of breakdown infringements Montpellier got away with.
34 handling errors and leaving 4+ tries out there due to either the handling or poor decisions mean you want win, and don't deserve to.

Bad day all round for the Prem teams
