It rains in Bergen. A lot. Something to do with being surrounded by hills. Anyway, a weary traveler gets off the plane at Bergen. "Tell me" he says to a small boy. "Does it ever stop raining here?" "I don't know mister. I'm only six."
...and my landlord in Bergen told me he couldn't understand why people complained about the rainfall there. "The records say it rains for 300 days in the year and that's what it does, so why complain?"

Indeed. Of Russian revolution fame IIRC. I saw it the flesh about 25 years ago and the Russian Navy were still using it as a training/barrack ship for the young recruits. That pic seems to show tourists on board. Perhaps things have moved on.

The Norway Trip was... different

Due to an engine failure, the trip was cancelled, but i was lucky enough to get a place on MS Lofoten, a 1964 built ship and the "Heritage" ship for Hurtigruten

A little bit smaller than the original booking... Lofoten is on the right

Wonderful small vessel, if a little "rocky" in the sea passages during the trip

Traditional, well maintained and although not what I booked.... I have no regrets about the change
