"Hhwell, I'm afwaid we just don't know!"He's probably up there in the firmament now, sitting slightly to the right of Ghengis Khan.
Some sad people cannot hide their pathetic obsessions with ists and isms even in the face of such a tragic loss to the world or in Sir Moores case universe. Such people are to be ignored perhaps pitied but not ever taken for anything other than the fools that they are. Rip to the man of the stars.Clarion seems to be establishing he has an axe to grind (here and elsewhere)![]()

Moore was a bigot. I don't know why it's so difficult to acknowledge this. It doesn't invalidate the fact that he inspired and informed an enormous number of people, but there it is. It isn't irrelevant - he used his high profile to pursue a regressive political agenda.
Collimated. it's easy enough to do, method varies from model to model, but usually involves turning one of the objectives (front lens) until both images coincide. In a past life I made a tidy part-time income from buying "broken" bins for next to nowt, collimating them and reflogging. You need to get them re-columnated then.
I dont think many people took much notice of the political side...didnt seem to be a formulaic bigot as he toyed around with the monster raving looney party and stood up for animal welfare against the hunting tally-ho mob...
Oh, give over, you old harridan.A pretty standard one on the misogyny, homophobia and racism front, I'm afraid. People tended to describe this as "eccentric" or "old-fashioned", which seems to me to be a straightforward euphemism.

Heather Cooper wrote to Moore asking if being a girl would hamper her career. "Couldn't believe he replied to me. It says, from Patrick Moore: 'Dear Ms Cooper, many thanks for your letter. Let me assure you on one point - being a girl is no handicap at all'. I just thought that generosity of spirit was fantastic. It really urged me on."

Once again the world fails to live up to Claudine's high standards... do you actually have any evidence for what you posted, or are you just a daring iconoclast, taking on people who can't answer back?
