My Uke group have started our summer gigs. Gigs is far too glamorous a word …so far a village ladies choir concert and another village VE Day fete but my word I’ve enjoyed myself!

Gigs is far too glamorous a word …

It really isn't. It covers everything from Glastonbury to a dodgy pub in Aldershot*.

*instead of donations to the bucket a fairly scary man bought the band two rounds of Jaeger bombs. He didn't look like saying "no" was a good idea, but tricky when you have to drive home from Aldershot.

Did I mention that the chap was our *only* audience. He really enjoyed the gig. The only other people in the pub were in the garden smoking suspicious roll ups and the owners family at the bar. Still - we got paid by the pub *and* got Jaeger bombs. Haven't been back though...
