LCpl Boiled Egg

Three word soundbite
The idiot that left their broken front light scattered across the guided busway path, presumably after it fell off their bars. Had to stop to pick up bits of sharp plastic and four batteries which I then disposed of correctly at work.

The A421 MK to Buckingham road this morning. It is supposed to be shut between 7pm and 6 am for most of this month for repairs. This morning it was still shut at 8 am and is just reopening as I type. I asked the council why and they said it was because they took advantage of machine availability.

Pity they didn't think of the chaos it caused this morning. I am sure they knew last week what they where going to do.

What annoyed me was Eurosport refusing to allow me to renew my subscription to Eurosport Player at my old rate of £2.99/month (year's sub.). I was tied in to that rate despite the current rate being £4.99/month (year's sub.). My subscription payment this month failed because I have a new Visa card. Let's call the prices £3/mo and £5/mo ... I would be paying an extra £24 a year for nowt extra, just because I forgot to update my card details - hmmmph!. :cursing:

They also do a £7 (£6.99) deal which runs month to month and can be cancelled anytime. I hadn't considered that before because it costs a lot more in any given month. What I hadn't considered is that I only watch the cycling on Eurosport and that is only certain months of the year. What's more, ITV4 is covering the Tour de France, the Vuelta, and the Tour of Britain. The BBC cover track cycling, the World Road Championships and Olympics. I will only miss out on a few less important races.

So, I only need Eurosport in March, April and May to cover the Spring classics, the 1-week stage races such as Paris-Nice, and the Giro (if ITV are not covering it). Even if I need another month somewhere, that would only be 4 x £7 or £28 for the year, a saving of £8 over what I had been paying. I am now a happy monthly subscriber and watching a replay of the Paris-Nice prologue. I have made a note in my diary to cancel my subscription at the end of May.

Take that, Eurosport!!!

Complain. The Road Closure Order will have quite specific timings, and to keeping closed outside of that for whatever reason is simply unlawful.

Otherwise, an excellent reason for getting angry.

Already have. Must have been a few other complaints as they had a ready answer.

Feeling unwell (on me hols)
Out for a run in the car today and (despite the clouds and wind) lots of folks having fun
Saw mini peletons heading up towards Timanfaya, lots of them were pensioners :becool: :bicycle::okay:
Others out running, walking, etc.
My sore throat has become "woman flu" and I may have come into contact with something that didn't agree, as I've now got a swollen arm and was awake all last night feeling itchy and horrible.
Bad timing,
