The MP for Lancaster was on the radio yesterday talking about the flooding that hit the city around Christmas. She said it was devastating as "people's central heating wasn't working and they also didn't have access to Twitter and Facebook". Stupid @#£t!!:cursing:

Went to hire some fat bikes this morning, really looking forward to it.
Shop open 9am to 7pm according to website. Arrived at 9.25am, shop locked up and nobody about. Notice on door confirming the opening times, so why is nobody there?

Had a bit of a "incident" with a cyclist while out in the car this morning.

He was going at a fair rate of speed and it wasn't safe to pass so i hung back and left plenty of room, he kept signalling for me to pass him but I waited until there was a safe spot and passed him, entering the opposite lane to give him plenty of space. He caught up with me at the set of lights and leant up against my car! I told him to get off of my car which he did, after leaving a small dent in the roof of my car (which is my pride and joy). I let him go first from the lights as I was turning off the road anyway. What did the d!ck do? Brake checked me five times. I decided to overtake him safely again, pull up a bit further down the road, get out of the car and see what his problem was. Usually id just ignore it but this guy was being a complete d!ck for no apparent reason.
Instead of stopping (fair enough i now see why he wouldn't) he passed and decided to spit at me. it didn't land on me fortunately but it was a rather nasty flem type deal and went all over the rear of my car. We met at the next set of traffic lights where he said he was going to the police station to report me.

So pal. Go ahead and report me because I had my dash cam and rear window cam running at the time. Everything I did was perfectly safe and legal. You decided to act like a utter moron. I'm sure they'd love to see the way you acted. Twit.

*rant over*

Recently The Evil Black and White Cat has been hanging around a lot; he's unneutuered and massive so sprays other yards and hassles the other, much smaller cats on our street, including our two.

This is annoying in itself, and he was parading around this morning, but I also found out that one of our neighbours has been feeding the beast, encouraging it! I saw her this morning and gently suggested she might stop putting out food but she's adamant it's a stray and wants to look after it.

I'm all for looking after cats, but having this bruiser around is annoying humans and cats alike. I'm going to try and catch him and see if he's been microchipped.

If it's a stray and she wants to look after it then she should:-
Make sure it is a stray and not just lost, get it neutered, vaccinated then start feeding it.
She probably thinks she is doing a nice thing but can't see what a pest an uneuteured, tough guy can be.
Hope the cat gets a good home.

We're pretty convinced it's not a stray. Looks healthy and at one point had a collar but it may have done a runner. Hopefully the vet can help!

Im modestly good at keeping a clean car etc, always try to park carefully to protect the paintwork from unsolicited damage etc, having to park next to the road leaves you exposed.
Washed the car this morning...not one, not two but three series of light scratches where someone has opened their door onto mine...all in the same inch vertically, all at the same kind of height. Some careless gits out there....

I just cut a sheet of taper-edged plasterboard to the exact mirror image of the shape I wanted.

We've all done something along those lines.

Wasn't me but I aympathise with the chap who cut out his carpet upside down as backing was easier to cut from the wrong side. Fitted perfectly until he turned it back over

Even better is the tale I heard of someone installing a catflap. Lovely job, neat and tidy. Then he went to re-hang the door. Infortunatley catflap was at the top !
