When you get peds like these who chance it trying to cross a road when traffic has right of way and either (A) stop walking in the middle of the road or (B) Stroll across the road like they are walking in a park despite multiple metal cages that weigh a few tonnes each approaching them at quite a fast pace.

Not the worst case of this behavior i've seen but some people who do take their time crossing a road then the light at a pedestrian crossing is red man deserve more than just a slap.

some drivers have no respect for cyclists, and some peds have no respect for cyclists or drivers.

We went to our local tearooms, Kings Lock Cottage, oh dear! Incomplete orders, we waited half an hour for 2 cappuccinos, items advertised on the boards they didn't have, a few people turned around and walked away. I know they have changed hands but they have been opened a while now and they weren't all that busy so no excuse for being that poor.

There were more than a few of them out on my ride today, you have my sympathy.

Best of them was where a group of 4 adults were walking abreast across the full width of the NCN R66 where it's a 'shared space'. I moved right over to one side, they refused to move even slightly so I stopped and made them walk round me. One of the blokes muttered something about riding on the path, so I politely pointed out the NCN signs on the lamp post and the bicycle painted on the tarmac.

Nipped into Nero's today for a quick hot chocolate and bake well tart before starting work.
Found a piece of plastic in the cake xx(
Offered another cake but declined.
Yesterday out for lunch with Mr M to a local hotel, we're regulars and the food and service are usually very good.
Sadly Mr M was served an infants portion of mince and my Tempura chicken fillets were undercooked with sludgy batter, yuk!
The waitress asked if everything was ok so we were politely truthful. She said she'd speak to the kitchen staff. When we went up to pay she charged full price for our meal even though Mr M was still hungry and I'd left most of mine. She did apologise for lunch not being "what we'd hoped for"!!

2 today. Must be something in the air....

Went to a well known northern supermarket chain this morning.
Was early, so fairly quiet but still managed to keep having to avoid a family of chavs who were clearly there for a day out and not content with blocking the aisle every blooming time, were busy guzzling cans of energy drink they'd just plucked from the shelf.
Then found that while the supermarket sells the excellent Andrew Jones pork pies, they were 7p more than my local butcher charges for them. So I didn't get one on principle.
Which I'm now slightly annoyed about as I'm a bit peckish...:hungry:

Then this afternoon we went to the cinema. Here's a top tip for other people: Don't take your very talkative 7 and 8 year old kids to a very violent 12A film and give them both a bucket sized fizzy pop to drink - then you won't repeatedly disturb the rest of the paying audience when you make numerous toilet trips during the film. :cursing:
It doesn't annoy me particularly, but the original Andrew Jones is a keen cyclist. Often used to chat with him at Velocity, Lindley.

Byron Burgers advertising supposed 'proper burgers' and relieving my wallet of 72 quid for 4 crap burgers & softs. Should be illegal.

All I see is a nob on a bike.
I wouldn't go that far, but as dubious as the peds' decision to cross against the lights was, the criticism of one for 'stopping walking in the middle of the road' seems to me misguided - if you had a bike appear out of nowhere and suddenly bear down on you at high speed, standing still would probably be your best option. Let the guy swerve round a stationary object, rather than risk making an evasive move into the place he chooses to swerve to. And yes, if I'd been the cyclist I would've slowed right down, regardless of the light, not just bombed on, on account of 'having right of way'.

Work and the d*ckheads I work with.
I was supposed to have this weekend off. Not anymore, One of my lovely colleagues who usually works Wednesday-Sunday has decided he will call in sick and then post all over social media about the car meets he is attending this weekend. So now muppet here has to cover for him and then do the whole working week next week too. I like the extra money but I've had enough of the sh*tshow that is HR and after having quite a discussion with them over the phone about time off and overtime I'm considering leaving the company.

I'd send a link to his 'social media' posts to someone in HR/personel. I'd also cite the EU regs on the 48hr max working week to them, if they need more staff then employ someone extra, not on to be dumped on like that.

Spot on. Quoting the Working Time Directive works wonders with our HR bods.

If someone is stupid enough to call in sick and then post about his activities on social media, in my opinion he deserves grassing up.

It isn't 'grassing up' it is "keeping 'Human Resources' up to date on 'staffing' issues".
I've had far better reasons to 'throw a sickie' than going to a car show/event but still gone into work.
An Example;

I was working at a place where the holidays were 'fixed' (bank holidays, a week at Christmas/New Year and the July 'Fortnight') but had asked about having a day off on my birthday (unpaid) but was refused. On the morning of my Birthday the doorbell rang at about 7:15 (just as I was getting ready to leave) and I answered it to find an old 'friend' on the doorstep who wished me "Happy Birthday" as she opened her long Gaberdine coat to reveal a vision in a Basque and Stockings. I still went to work but I may have been a couple of hours late arriving.
When asked by the boss "why are you late" I told him the truth......................................He didn't half look jealous. :becool:
