Has anybody seen ex-Icicle Works frontman Ian McNabb?

Great act but WHAT a wa**er. He once pulled a mega strop because people were talking too loud at the bar. He's also been known to walk off stage because of lack of respect from the audience.

This is from a man who struggles to fill the back of a pub.

Charles Mingus used to trade fours ostentatiously with noisy punters at Ronnie Scott's. Needless to say they didn't even notice...

I hate that. I saw Dick Gaughan in Wolverhampton and he was the same: interrupting himself to shout "shut UP!!" at the audience if anyone so much as breathed too loudly. If you're distracted by people talking during your gigs, you're not making enough noise.;)

What's trading fours, theclaud?

Four-bar sections, usually taken in turn by soloists, as a sort of conversation. You most often get frontmen trading fours (or eights) with the drums - Mingus would play four and then the whole band would fall silent for four bars while he pointed at the chattering punters...
