Thanks for that. Just had a quick look at the blurb and like the principle. Going to do mine this weekend then, based on the fact my son had his MTB stolen 2 months ago. Because it was a homebrew by myself, it was unique although not expensive. I had photos of it etc. Without those, or serial numbers etc, you're up a gumtree.

After that, ive updated all my serial numbers etc, but holding them on a PC's ok...until your PC goes up the swanny and you lose everything...like wot i did :whistle:

I had this happen a while ago. Now I back up all my working data here www.dropbox.com. It doesn't stop my PC exploding/being stolen, but it reduces the consequences from a catastrophe to an inconvenience - and it's free.

According to the man at cycle surgery, mine is covered in Alphadots!

And somewhere in this drawer next to me, there is a security number, and a frame number written on a fancy piece of card :o)

Does anyone have any experience of these alphadots? ... do they work? and can the police retrieve my bike (and return it to me) if they find it in the hands of the local thugs?
