Doom. I'm not riding at the moment due to another severe attack of thigh muscle pain. It's like being imprisoned ! This is a condition I've had for some years (since I was 30, I'm now an old git of 41) and varies in intensity from a twinge to completely crippling (ie can't walk more than a few yards). Right now I can walk, but cycling's a no no. It tends to happen every 3 months or so but so far this year I've been fine so this latest bout is a bit demoralising.
I've had 3 biopsies and sought specialist advice but the doc's have no idea although they figure it might be a mitochondrial thing. Unfortunately I don't know about any family history of this condition (which is really important) as I was adopted. The good thing though is I know that after a few days to 2 weeks I should be back in the saddle and completely fine.
Aside from shamelessly seeking sympathy, if anyone has any ideas or has ever had anything similar or know someone who has it would be really useful to know as I've reached a bit of a dead end in terms of docs etc.
