I was passed today by a lady on a Trek road bike. Nothing that unusual, she was shifting and she was wearing the local club jersey so she's probably pretty decent. What makes me laugh in retrospect was that pride made me stick with her for about a mile before I gave up in a sweaty, breathless huff on a weedy little climb as she dropped me like a stone.

Gotta like this despite (or because of?) the bizarre spelling of labrador. Not every N.A. word ending with "or" needs a "u". However, from now on I am going to call them labra-dowers.
That's good. Now he can spell Labrador properly.

  • A traction engine leaving Corbridge
  • A hand cyclist uphill near Birdoswold Roman Fort (in my defence he was wearing Team GB kit)
  • Three red deer stags in Glen Isla

I also got speed gunned by the local police at 5mph climbing a steep hill out of a local village into a headwind. He was annoyingly keen to tell me my speed

Countless road riders but of particular note a dude on an MTB flew past me on my roadbike. I had not been cycling long at the time but im not convinced he wouldnt take me now.

ouch. point taken. sorry. still love labra-dour though

I have been overtaken by pretty nearly one of everything. My go-to move it to notice some impending mechanical problem, and to stop to sort it out just before being over taken. Most humiliating: jogger on a hill in Richmond Park.

Tongue firmly in cheek, no worries.

I too have been overtaken by a jogger, most recently up Byker Bank, though in my defense it was my tenth rep up the hill and I was absolutely spent.
