That wasn't a motor, that was God giving him energy! :giggle:
Funny you should say that. Chatting with a guest at work today and she was saying how Jesus is always with us, even on bike rides. When I asked if it was too much to ask him to do a bit of pedalling up the hills, she gave me a bit of an old fashioned look. Thankfully, she then laughed.

A bloke in a business suit on a Brompton going up the Bristol railway path. And I have 29" wheels .

Almost got overtaken by young guy on what seemed to be an electric skateboard last week (he never put his foot down to propel himself). Only thanks to a wee bit more power to the main engines (my legs) did I accelerate away from him. Blimey, those things can move!. However, with tiny wheels, I wonder how he coped with the root damage later on...

A Great Dane called 'Rufus' who subsequently cleared a gate to investigate the presence a couple of horses in an adjacent field. Rufus was one of the names its owner was screaming some distance behind me.

A walker while I was grovelling up Cainwell Pass into the mother of all gales.

Undertaken by an utter lunatic on a skate board while travelling down a local short but fairly steep hill.

After seven and a half years of trying to take myself relatively seriously as a cyclist, I thought it might be time to own up to the following things that have overtaken me at one time or another.
In no particular order, here are my top 3:

(1) A shed. (There must have been a tractor in there somewhere, but all you could see was rotting timber and felt roof). Tried to fight it off for a mile or two, but it burned me off on a country lane just after the brow of a hill.

(2) A house. (A great big mobile home being delivered along the A38). Blew me away, almost literally.

(3) A jogger. Not my finest hour, winching myself grimly up Frocester Hill when a jogger sauntered past with a cheery greeting. (B*stard!).

Can anyone top those? Come on Cyclechatters, it's confession time.
