It was the weight that was the problem - they could manage that witha few adjystments

but the "aroma" contains chemicals that would erode the airframes alloys over the long flight to the Falklands

They were actually designed to be able to cope witha flight to Moscow under suc conditions but it wold be a one-way mission and the crew would have to crash land in the Arctic Circle - probably North West Siberia
but their survival would be easier than expect as - even after dropping their payload - the remaining aroma would melt the snow for 300 yards in all directions
