'How did you get on?' after I have finished a ride or 'How are you getting on?' if I phone during a ride.

In all the time I have been cycling I do not think the question has ever been asked...:welcome:

I often wonder the same... it doesn't do to dwell too long on these things

My announcement today that I might well be out for 6 hours on my bike tomorrow was met with 'okay....' :welcome:

I was at least expecting some kind of dissent and mention of how essential I was to the joy of family life....

Anyway I seem to have hijacked the thread.

Another thing never heard:

"you're quite right; you look much better when you don't shave and you choose your own clothes to wear for a night out"...

"I won't have any of your cake. I'll get a slice of my own"

Mrs Gti hasn't insulted me for over a month now.... in fact she's been quite nice to me so I'm wondering what's going on. She keeps talking about a bloke in her office who is my age but quite an irritating and ill-maintained specimen of manhood so maybe she's beginning to realise that I'm not so bad after all.......

1) Yes, I now fully understand why you don't wear undies under your cycling tights/shorts, and I will never (i.e. every time) again ask the question yet again and/or take the mickey :welcome:

2) I agree with your reasons for choosing not to wear a helmet on your long rides out into the countryside, and I will not ask the same flipping question every time you're going for a ride
