My current bike is two years old and as it has starting to squeak and click. If I rock the pedals while free wheeling I can hear a squeak but I don't know if it is the pedals or bottom bracket and then for at least the last 60 minutes of my ride at the weekend, I had to put up with a click nearly every time my right pedal went past 6pm.
I also sometimes get back ache and I heard someone say recently that they were the same until they switch to another make recently and now they don't suffer from it any more.
Now, I know what your thinking, it would be cheaper to get those things fixed but I'm a man doing "man maths" here and fixing things doesn't give shinny things
I was looking at the Trek Madone 2.1 at the weekend (currently have a 2013 Specialized Elite) and for what you get, it looks quite decent for £900. Alu frame, Shimano 11speed 105 except for chainset and brakes, some internal cable routing etc. I don't have room for two bikes (man card may have gone there) so I would obviously hope to get a couple of hundred for my current one bringing it down further.
I've also read that the geometry of the Trek is a mix between race and sportive so it sounds like it may help my back.
So I have a few questions:

So I have a few questions:
- I've seen some people say they don't like Trek bikes so is there any reason for that other than personal choice?
- Does anyone have an opinion of the Madone 2.1?
- Possibly the stupid question, do I need to be thinking about a new bike
