Not here offten enough to argue
Would it look silly if i changed the front forks on my sabbath to add a disc brake???

With the rear having to stay as a rim brake.

Don't worry about it. Ive been rolling around the past couple of days on a 50mm front carbon and a normal rear.

I would do it

Think i might prefer the n+1 route as ive i have had clearance from the holder of the purse strings for another new bike

So looking at a full carbon cyclocross for winter/wet rides when better braking is needed.

You want the more powerful brake on the back.

What makes you say that?
I certainly don't.

I've been thinking of doing the same on my old 'cross bike. Found out you can get disk-specific forks with 1" steerer!

I was down a couple of descents this weekend that I would have managed to complete with a failed back brake, but no way would I have made it with a failed front - I'd have had to abandon ship pretty early on!

Back brake is a great addition to the front when the surface is loose or it's wet, but not much more than that.
