+1 on the comments above.

As a fan of the subway, I've found mine to be bullet proof and a pleasurable/comfy ride. As with all bikes it will take time to bed things in then adjust them to peak performance not to mention finding the sweet set up for you personally.

Carrera's are cracking bikes, usually let down be the folk setting them up. I wouldn't have bought two for my kids, a £330 Vengeance for my son and a £180 Luna 24" for my daughter if I didn't think they were any good.

An hours build up and full checking was needed per bike. That said, I did bin the stock front mech on my daughter's bike as it was a crap no-name one, and fitted a SRAM x3 to match the rear.

The Vengeance is also a great bike. I've taken one around both the Freeminers (red) and Verderers (blue w/ red options) trail where it kept up with riders sporting Rockshox Reba forks etc.

A cracking starter MTB for getting in to the sport.

I still can't work out how to adjust the seat angle (tilt) though - here is a (lousy, sorry!) pic. The rest of my fleet have a bolt that can be loosened. Do I need a different seat post on this?

Thanks

You need to move the reflector out of the way, and you should then be able to loosen the bolt in the circle with an 8mm (?) allen key.

I got confused about this at first so maybe if I, a mere mechanical numbty, explain it it might be clearer.

You need to loosen the bolt in the red circle. The seat is on a ratchet (marked with my blue lines) but when loose enough, you'll be able to tilt the front of the seat up and down.

With that bolt loose you can also move the seat backwards and forwards on the rails, along my yellow line. You might want to do this or you might not, if you don't, be careful not to do it unintentionally while the bolt is loose.

Great minds....
