...... accept my personal opinion.
In my life time, I have been following 56 TdF and I am a bit saddened by the fact that English is becoming the preferred language of the TdF. I must add that I have nothing against the success of British riders as it is deserved but I think it is the all fashion case of where the English get involved into something, they seem to take over. I think it goes back to the old days of colonialism and it is in their blood. I see it everywhere: in parts of France where English people now live, in the French language where many English words have crept it, Brexit where they want their own way, food where they try to think they are best, all sports in general and probably other cases that don't come to my mind at the moment. The TdF was started in France of course and I hope the directors of the race will not start doing the presentations and radio tour in English.
Now , I know the usual crowd on here will start throwing the stones at me but I feel I just wanted to express my view as I love the French language and hope it will remain French . Each to his own.
A bon entendeur, Salut!! :okay: :hello:

Quelle domage! ;)

I sort of agree with you (would be better for TdF to remain French), but as an international event, I guess they're starting to use the (no pun intended) Lingua Franca :okay:

A great number of words of French origin have entered the English language to the extent that many Latin words have come to the English language. According to different sources, 45% of all English words have a French origin.
