A couple of days ago someone shouted something at me when riding through one of the villages here. I couldn't quite make out what they said, but now I read this it may have been something along those lines.

I've had someone on our local village Facebook site complaining about cyclists riding through the village.

For some reason they though that people running or walking past their house was fine, but cyclists were a problem....

I couldn't quite believe how stupid they sounded, but they were not swayed when I questioned their idiotic reasoning.

There's a post in the your ride today section of the cafe that says a similar sign has been put up in Frampton in Gloucestershire.

North Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner has said that cyclists in particular are ‘a real worry.’ Julia Mulligan went on to clarify that cyclists in the area hadn’t been doing anything wrong and it was just that simply by riding through villages, they had been “causing a bit of tension.”
