What's that got to do with this?

Why not? Why not just say the reason instead of hinting like an arse? To think I took you off ignore to read this.

yes it is.
To quote someone on this thread
Shake + shake + shake = 30
3 shake = 30
Shake = 30 / 3
Shake = 10

Shake + burger + burger = 20
Shake + 2 burger = 20
2 burger = 20 - shake
2 burger = 20 - 10
2 burger = 10
Burger = 10 / 2
Burger = 5

Burger + 2 fries + 2 fries = 9
Burger + 4 fries = 9
4 fries = 9 - burger
4 fries = 9 - 5
4 fries = 4
Fries = 4 / 4
Fries = 1

Burger + fries × shake = burger + (fries × shake)
= 5 + (1 × 10)
=5 + 10
=15

edit. OK winjim is right.

But the problem is crap.

If I was dealing with mathematical representation, it would be clear.

If I was dealing with actual Macca's products, it would be clear. You wouldn't mistake 2 packets of fries for one

Show the actual thing you are measuring, or represent it accurately.

It's 15. I see it now. He's going back on ignore.
You had me on ignore? Wow.

It's not rocket surgery. It's just basic simultaneous equations. Not even the hard kind, where you have to make substitutions.

3x=30
x+2y=20
y+2z=9
so x=10, y =5, z=2

then y+x * z = 5+10*2 = 25
2z?

Why not y+(x*z) ?

When did this new fangled convention appear over the horizon of British education?
