Ordered a Shimano 11-28 cassette from Steeles of Gosforth [long story] for £44 fitted price [they offered so why not]... took the wheel off my bike at the shop and collected it the next day. So far so good.... but then they tried to charge me £52.... odd, showed them the email and they altered their invoice. Just before leaving I saw they'd not put the QR spindle back on the wheel so told them and they went to find it. Spoke to the lad who did the changeover to be told he said it wasn't on the wheel... I said of course it was so they went to find it. Came back and said there you go.... I thanked them and got home to find they'd put on a non-Shimano black QR spindle which was poorly engineered and a definite BSO fitting.... rang them straight back but they couldn't explain what had happened to mine. Sent them a photo of the Shimano stamped front one to get a match.... that was a week ago, so will be chasing today. Surprised by the mix-up and not impressed, which was a shock.

Well, I haven't bought it as much as ordered it as it only hit the catalogues yesterday. Nice surprise as it comes back in under the magic C2W £1k limit, which the 2013 bike didn't. Glad I waited now!

Oh, and some bartape to go on my old one when I sell it.

A set of spokes (Rose Bikes), a Garmin 800 (Trailmix, a local online/storefront vendor), 4 spare tubes (LBS), and then at a local hardware store I got 4 cans, 1 each of: lithium grease spray, lubricant spray, penetrating rust remover spray and compressed air spray.
